What can we make?
1" Round
The little buttons pack a lot of punch! They come with pinbacks but can easily be made into magnets and keychains!
1¼" Round
Most popular: 1¼″ round with pinbacks. We can also remove the pins and make magnets for an additional fee, and other backings, too!
2"x 3"
These rectangular buttons can also be made into magnets, pocket mirrors, and are great for name badges.
3" Round
The “biggest button” in our capacity, these can also be made into magnets, pocket mirrors, name badges, and coasters.
We can also bring in parts for keychains, ponytail holders, and zipper pulls and other idea, but need time to order from our supplier so get in touch with your ideas!
Capacity
Kale makes each button by hand and can produce about 100 buttons per day. Minimum order depends on the size of the button. Get in touch to find out! Turnaround is usually within 48 hours, but it depends what other orders are in the queue and how many you order.
Design services are often included depending upon what you already have – got a logo? We can put that on a button. Need a logo? Hire a graphic designer and get back to us. Between Kale and his mom we can usually make a button design using your graphic elements, but we can also give you a template that you can use to make the design yourself.
Please note, Kale will not make buttons that promote hate speech or discriminatory behaviour but he is a giant fan of puns.
Payments
We can accept credit cards, cash, and e-transfers. If we know you we will occasionally accept cheques. We invoice through Square for custom orders. Terms are due upon receipt.
Kale operates as a business but one that also offers some community benefit, so:
- 1/3 of his profit he saves.
- 1/3 he may spend however he wishes. He is better at saving than spending, to be honest, so often this third ends up in the saving budget anyway.
- 1/3 he donates. He may choose where it goes although we encourage him to choose non-faith based organizations that support vulnerable local people or animals. Some buttons are special fundraisers, and are handled seperately.
Pricing
Kale the Buttoneer is not the cheapest provider of buttons locally however he is probably the coolest. If you need high volume, lower prices, and maybe faster turnaround, may we suggest Six Cent Press? They are great for that and we have used them and like them very much.
Kale prices his buttons based on the true cost of labour. Part of why we started the business was for him to learn about why handmade goods are often more expensive and how economies of scale, supply and demand, the cost of labour, and other concepts play into the success of a business.
For all custom button orders, the following pricing is in effect as of April 1, 2022. Prices are subject to change based on the cost of our supplies and this page will be updated to reflect that.
All orders of 100+ buttons are eligible for a volume discount of 5%. orders that don’t meet the minimum are absolutely possible, however contact us for pricing on small orders.
Pinback Buttons
- 1″ round = $0.95 per button (minimum order is 10)
- 1 1/4″ round = $1.10 per button (minimum order is 10)
- 2″ X 3″ rectangle = $3.85 per button (minimum order is 1)
- 3″ round $3.85 per button (minimum order is 1)
- 1″ round = $1.60 per button (minimum order is 10)
- 1 1/4″ round = $2.10 per button (minimum order is 10)
- 2″ X 3″ rectangle = $5.10 per button (minimum order is 1)
- 3″ round = $5.10 per button (minimum order is 1)
